Training Workshop
We conducted an intensive two day workshop with counsellors in Mumbai on January 29th -30th 2009. The workshop was organised by CEHAT, a women’s organisation working with survivors of domestic violence in the city’s public hospitals. The training equipped their grassroot level case workers and counsellors with information and skills required to identify and address issues of childhood sexual abuse in their clients. 

Radio Talk Show:
Anuja Gupta was invited by Radio Meow, as a guest on their popular weekly show for mothers called Mamma Meow on February 21, 2009. Radio Meow is Delhi’s first FM radio station for women. During this two hour show exclusively on child sexual abuse, Anuja was in conversation with the host on the subject, and answered questions from listeners who called in. This was a powerful and moving programme where women broke down as they shared their stories of incest/child sexual abuse and asked for help.

School Programme:
Swaraj India School, a well known public school in Kanpur, invited us to make a presentation on incest/child sexual abuse and have an interactive session with its middle and senior school teachers to orient them on the issue.

This session, comprising a film screening and discussion, marked the beginning of a Personal Safety Education Programme that the school hopes to implement in collaboration with RAHI in the future. The session, held on March 17, 2009, was the first of its kind in Kanpur and was covered by the regional press.

Club Mum:
This was a talk held with a group of young mothers in Delhi on March 21, 2009. These mothers are part of a support group called Club Mum, an initiative of the maximum store, a store exclusively for mothers. The talk focused on how parents can protect their children from sexual abuse and what they need to do if their child is abused.
